KindOf Management Arrow

Zoppellaro’s photography shows a total absence of awe and veneration, putting himself in a parallel relationship in which the camera is placed on the same line of the gaze of the photographed subject.

He studied photography at the IED in Milan from 1999 to 2002. In 2003, after two years of working experience in the Photography department of Fabrica (Benetton’s Centre for Communication Research), he moved to England where he started shooting for various magazines and music labels. At the same time, he realizes various personal projects, from the social report (Irish Travellers, Kosovar Refugees, African Witch Hunters, Hackney Homeless, Prisons of Maximum Security North-East Italian), custom (Religious Ceremonies in the South, Milan Sex Fair) and youth movements (Rave Parties European, Punk Mexican, Hip Hop Scene of Dakar).

Among the different exhibitions and publications in January 2020 exhibits at Arte Fiera di Bologna The projects “CCCP” and “Straight Outta Pikine” His images were exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London, Photo España, Cortona On The Move, Portrait(s) of
Vichy, Paris Photo, Italian Cultural Institute in London, Fabrica di Treviso. At the moment he lives between Milan and London.

Zoppellaro’s photography shows a total absence of awe and veneration. In front of the poet, the rocker, the generational myths, he makes a necessary step: that of putting himself in a parallel relationship in which the camera is often placed on the same line of gaze of the photographed subject. It is not technical, not cunning, but a natural attitude to look at the other by establishing a relationship of mutual choice.
