Her journalistic background has become a distinct strength, leading her to delve into fashion, music, art, and culture through various creative roles while maintaining constant attention on an anthropological and sociological level.
Woo Lee was born in Korea and moved to Milan after winning the “Young Fashion Visionaries Selection” competition of Harper’s Bazaar Korea. After completing her studies, she began collaborating with various international media, including Condé Nast Italia and Korea as a fashion editor and stylist. Her journalistic background has become a distinct strength, leading her to delve into fashion, music, art, and culture through various creative roles while maintaining constant attention on an anthropological and sociological level. As a correspondent of W Korea since 2004, she has developed her sensitivity and intuition towards new talents and social and cultural movements, working with fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Burberry, Dior, Chanel, Tiffany & Co, etc. to create special projects and cover stories.
Currently, Woo is the co-founder of commON srl and manages two divisions as creative director. The first division is commON magazine, which deals with fashion and musicians conceptually through multimedia channels, including print, events, and a dedicated virtual platform. The second division is the creative studio, which offers creative consultancy to external companies or brands. Thanks to “commON projects,” she has collaborated with Artists such as Jared Leto, Lykke Li, Anyma of Tale of us, Venerus and Coma Cose and brands Mugler, Ann Demeulemeester, MM6 Martin Margiela, Gianfranco Ferré Foundation, and reinterpreted them in a current and conceptual way. Her creative point of view extends to directing her short film project “K70PLAY” with Kartell. Recently, she directed the artistic short film “Jared Leto / Eternity and Minerva” for commON issues, where artificial intelligence coexists with traditional shooting.
